C-626 Upper Extremity

Course Overview

This course utilizes case-based instruction to illustrate shoulder girdle, elbow, wrist and hand conditions, and their advanced neurophysiological movement assessment. Coursework will focus on reason-based development of individualized examinations aimed at patient/client classification into: management of an initial diagnosis, progression to a specific neurophysiological movement examination, symptom/intervention/rule-based classification groupings, or referral to another health-care provider. Procedural interventions will include education, manual therapy techniques (including manipulation), and individualized neuromuscular rehabilitation prescription, with the goal of restoring normal function and preventing disability.

Amy Temes Clifton

Amy Temes Clifton received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in Missoula (2007) and completed her Fellowship through NAIOMT in 2018. She splits her time between patient care and the Therapeutic Associates Education Department, where she serves as the Director of Clinical Practice as well as a mentor for new staff, residents, and fellows-in-training.
