C-611 Lumbopelvic Spine II

Course Overview

This course utilizes case-based instruction to illustrate lumbopelvic spine conditions, and their advanced neurophysiological movement assessment. Coursework will focus on reason-based development of individualized examinations aimed at patient/client classification into: management of an initial diagnosis, progression to a specific neurophysiological movement examination, symptom/intervention/rule-based classification groupings, or referral to another health-care provider. Procedural interventions will include education, manual therapy techniques (including manipulation), and individualized neuromuscular rehabilitation prescription, with the goal of restoring normal function and preventing disability.

Kathy Stupansky

Kathy Stupansky graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1981. She has been certified in advanced manual therapy techniques since 1993 and an instructor with North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) since 1992. She is currently a Lead Physical Therapistwith Select Physical Therapy(formerly a Market Manager for 20+ years). She has lectured and taught several courses for NAIOMT and to various clinics, study groups, national conferences, etc. Kathy was accepted as a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2001. Kathy received her Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy through Andrews University in December of 2007. She subsequently was asked to join Andrews University Associate Faculty, instructing through the online post-professional learning program.She also was a former Board of Director member for NAIOMT and has been active in many committees to help build NAIOMT to the present. Kathy is a Shareholder of NAIOMT dedicated to continued development with NAIOMT serving to provide education opportunities for progression toward excellence in physical therapy. Kathy is extremely dedicated to Faith, Family and Friends. Leisure time is filled with reading, walking, skiing, relaxing on a beach/at the pool, and watching a good movie every now and then.
