This Population Could Use More Skilled PTs...

Approximately 3.7 million women give birth in the United States every year. That's a lot of women whose bodies are going through tremendous physical and physiological changes. And who's helping them navigate those changes? Who's guiding them toward healing? Who's helping minimize some of the serious conditions so many will encounter down the road, if untreated? (Incontinence, low back pain and sexual dysfunction, to name a few.) One thing's for sure. Not enough of us PTs.

No matter your particular specialty within the physical therapy profession, you'll inevitably encounter the obstetric population. And with a little knowledge in the area of manual therapy and pregnancy, you truly can improve the lives of mothers across the country.

In the video below, NAIOMT women’s health experts and advocates Susan ClintonPT, DScPT, OCS, WCS, COMT, FAAOMPT and Jessica McKinney, PT, MS discuss the immense need. Get access to their guidance firsthand by joining their Manual Therapy & Pregnancy course in Seattle November 4-5!
