Addressing Lower Extremities

Posted by NAIOMT on Apr 6, 2015 10:49:14 PM

It is often thought that lower extremity problems are just that...localized lower extremity problems. Well, usually they aren't. Most lower extremity problems, whether traumatic, or insidious onset, are stress reactions of some sort. Tissues are able to adapt to increased stress for a time, but eventually they begin to break down, and they break down in fairly predictable patterns.

That's what Level II manual therapy continuing education is all about. Beginning to understand patterns of stress and predicting how things break down. This is all based on a thorough understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of each joint. That, and understanding how to isolate each structure at each joint for an accurate diagnosis. And don't forget treatment...this is where thrust manipulation in particular can be really, really effective.

We address all of this and more in NAIOMT's Level II Knee-Ankle-Foot course, which utilizes case-based instruction to illustrate select conditions of the knee, ankle, and foot, and their detailed, specific biomechanical and neurophysiological assessment.
