This web page is to serve as an informational resource to provide a current listing of contact information for the State Physical Therapy Associations of the United States found below. Registration of specific courses for continuing education requirements/credits for physical therapy licensure and re-licensure is specific to each individual state association.
IMPORTANT: Many physical therapy courses are eligible for contact hours towards physical therapy re-licensure if the course is registered with at least one state physical therapy association. Therefore, there is a possibility that a NAIOMT course will not be registered in your state but you would still be able to utilize those contact hours towards re-licensure if it is a NAIOMT course that is registered with a State Physical Therapy Association. For specific details on the eligibility for each specific course you wish to attend, please see the recommended actions below under the section ‘Determining if a Course is Approved by your State Physical Therapy Association.’
Example: A physical therapist licensed in the State of Virginia could utilize the contact hours for the NAIOMT 500: course towards re-licensure requirements in the State of Virginia because the course is officially registered by the Arizona State Physical Therapy Association. The Virginia Physical Therapy Association grants eligibility for course contact hours for those courses already approved by any other State Physical Therapy Association in the United States.
Determining if a Course is Approved by your State Physical Therapy Association
If it is unclear whether the courses you wish to consider taking will count towards your state physical therapy association’s requirements please consider the following steps:
- Contact the NAIOMT site coordinator of the specific course you wish to attend to ask if the specific course is properly registered with the state physical therapy association in which you are licensed as a physical therapist. [Comment: hyperlink to Site Coordinators Listing]
- Contact NAIOMT Administration at admin@naiomt.com
- Contact State Physical Therapy Association you are licensed to practice physical therapy [Note: as mentioned above, many courses may qualify based on registration with a PT Association other than your own and still qualify for contact hours. Be sure to ask about this if your course of interest in not registered.]
